Dismissed: How one woman's intuition ended her addiction and exposed a government cover-up!

Couldn't put your damn book down until past midnight. I'm on Chapter 11 and devastated that I won't be able to read more until tomorrow! Amazing!

I can't stop reading your book. Stunningly riveting!!!!!

It has been 16 years since my son's suicide. 'What's normal, Ma?' The simple question he asked me shortly before his death still haunts me. Gisele's personal story of her struggles, the same struggles as my son's and thousands the world over, provides the answers.
Phyllis Vineberg (mother of VLT suicide victim)

"Started reading "Dismissed" last night and finished it in one day... amazing, insightful, infuriating, empowering... Thank you for changing my assumptions about VLT addicts forever. This book is not only to help addicts know more about why they are addicted; it is also important for those who are not addicted to read (among other reasons) so that we can see the human being instead of our judgments. We are the government and we need to know this truth to be a part of the huge change that is needed, immediately!!!
I could go on for a while, but you should read it instead..."

The book is an engagingly written examination of Gisele's monumental struggle with a VLT addiction and her determined efforts to garner the strength and knowledge to eventually break free. Her story highlights the massive harms associated with uncontrolled play such as family turmoil, financial disaster and loss of self-esteem and her frustration with government officials who were not forthcoming.
Garry Smith (Alberta Gaming Research Institute)

Gisele was caught and infected by a machine that was designed and manufactured with the intention of conditioning the human brain to act like an addict. I commend her for being able to decipher some of the reasons why good people become victims which many of us advocates already knew and most of my colleagues regrettably don't want the public to know. Those facts and her belief in God saved her life.
Sol Boxenbaum (Addictions Counselor,
Consumer Advocate, Viva Consulting)

"If you follow your heart, if you listen to your gut,
and if you extend your hand to help another, not
for any reason, but for the sake of humanity,
you are going to find the truth."
Erin Brockovich

Well thought out and comprehensive. I like the part about you being a victim, not an addict. This should make many addicts realize what is really going on. Great read. It kept my attention all the way through.

Your story echoed what our daughter went through – almost scary that there was so much similarity. The narration from the all-important meeting was gripping to say the least. You were in a situation fraught with obstacles. It was like you were all alone with many against you. How proud I felt when at last you confronted them head-on and didn’t back down!
Keith Piercey (father of VLT suicide victim)

Well, since I picked up your book last night I could not put it down. I even read it in my sauna at risk of the pages coming apart, which often happens in the heat. I took my chances and kudos to your publisher, book is still intact.
From the moment I picked it up, I could not dismiss its effect on me.  I loved the book on so many levels.   I am a firm believer in the power of God’s guiding and healing hands and in particular the resilience of the human spirit to triumph over the most challenging adversities through His grace and compassion.  This book is a powerful testament to God’s abiding love and protection over all of us.

Your mom’s story really does need to be told and shared.  Simply put, this book has the power to transform lives.  If you are struggling with any form of addiction, marriage or relationship issues, entrepreneurial or career challenges, or your faith in God, then I strongly recommend you read this book.
Blessings to you Gisele for your courage and conviction to pursue the truth, as you said, “Knowledge is freedom”!  Blessings to you Dana for helping her illuminate the truth ... I am sure it has helped create an unshakable bond of trust and friendship between a mother and daughter.
